Salvador Brazil

Alright;

I'm starting a long story.

In november '07 I applied for a job in Brasil. Almost 6 months later, here I am.

Basically; without knowing anything about what I'm getting into, I sold my house, my car and my motorcycle; left almost all of my worldly posessions, friends and family behind and left the country.

How long?

I guess its sorta a permanent position.

Sorta.

The perks?

I work in paradise. Literally; paradise. Its beautiful here. The women are georgeous - yeah, I don't speak the language - but they want to learn English. Haven't really gone out too much, I'm shy of late. Which works out just fine for me. But the girls I have met are just amazing. They're all mostly happy and don't live behind the walls us Canadians call home.

When they're happy, they smile. When they are sad; they cry.

---

I live in a hotel. I was at this hotel / resort - it was pretty nice. Had a friggain golf corse in the gated grounds. Now I'm in a business class place which doesn't have hot water half the mornings. Its nice!

The house they've got me setup with (I should take possession of sorts next weekish) has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (excluding the maid's area), is brand new; should be outfitted with all new appliances and I'll have to fill with furnature.

---

The work is pretty awesome.

Its difficult. Well; the difficult part is having a night life of any kind and being productive at work. I pretty much work 7 days a week and am on call 24 hours a day. I've got 43 employee's and over 20 support staff. Needless to say; its a little different from working in the field and playing video games all day.

Why is it difficult? because half of my staff don't speak english! Oh, and I'm the expert they flew in to deal with.. well... everything.

They even were kind enough to leave a number of messes for me to clean up when I started - oh yeah... and my guys basically have not had any supervision in the last year.

What else?

Everything is different down here.

The food for 1 - my body is still having problems digesting it.
Driving for 2 - they are absolutely crazy here. Good thing the emissions laws ensure everyone drives little cars.
Everything else for 3 - its all damn different.

But hey; ask some questions. I'll do my best.

More stories to follow (if I remember to post them! lol!)
